1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the MDM Saathi (“the app”, “we”) Android application handles your information. MDM Saathi is a free utility that helps school teachers in India keep the daily records, stock, monthly bill and Utilisation Certificate (UC) for the PM POSHAN mid-day-meal scheme and the Bal Gopal milk scheme. By using the app you agree to this policy.

2. The short version

We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal data. Your records are created and kept on your device and are never uploaded. There is no user account and no login. We run no analytics on you, and there is no advertising inside the app itself.

The app uses the internet for two things. First, to receive announcements from us — for example when a new feature is released, or when something in the scheme changes. That is one way: nothing about you or your school is sent back. Second, when you choose to open the question paper maker, which is our own website and opens in your phone's browser; that page carries Google ads. All the record keeping — entries, stock, bill, UC — works exactly the same with no connection at all.

3. Information we collect

No personal data. The app does not collect your name, phone number, email, location, contacts, or any usage analytics, and we build no profile of you. Your records never leave your phone.

One technical identifier does exist, and we would rather name it than have you find it: to deliver announcements, Google Firebase assigns this installation an ID. We never see it, we cannot connect it to you or your school, and we send messages to a topic that every installation shares — never to a particular phone. It is declared on the Play store listing as "Device or other IDs", used only to make the app work.

To be complete about the announcement feature: it uses Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). Messages are sent to a single topic that every installation subscribes to — we do not send to individual devices, we do not store device tokens, and we have no way to tell which phone belongs to whom. Google may assign the installation an identifier for message delivery; this is handled by Google and is described in the Firebase privacy documentation.

4. Information you enter, and where it lives

To do its job, the app lets you enter and store information such as: your school details (name, MDM code, enrolment), daily meal and milk counts, stock receipts and balances, holidays, cook-cum-helper details, and the resulting monthly bill and UC.

All of this is stored only in a private database on your own device. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party. We have no access to it.

5. Backups and sharing (only when you choose)

The app can create a backup file of your data, and can generate a UC PDF. These are created only when you explicitly ask for them. When you tap “share”, your device’s own share menu opens and you decide where the file goes (for example, WhatsApp to yourself, Google Drive, or email). We do not receive these files and are not involved in that transfer. Anything you share after that is governed by the privacy policy of the service you send it to.

6. Permissions

The app uses only the minimum Android permissions it needs:

• Files / storage (as needed): to create backup files and save/share the UC PDF that you request.
• Internet: to receive the announcements described above. It is not used to send your records anywhere.
• Notifications: optional, and asked for only once. If you decline, the app works exactly the same — you simply will not see announcements. You can turn notifications off at any time in your phone’s Settings.

The app does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, or call logs.

7. Third-party services

The app itself contains no advertising SDK and no analytics SDK. It uses one third-party service: Google Firebase Cloud Messaging, solely to deliver the announcements described in section 3. Separately, the question paper maker is a page on our own website, examsamachar.com, which you open from the app in your phone's browser; like most websites it carries Google advertising and analytics, and while you are on it that site's own terms apply. Nothing about your mid-day-meal records is ever sent there. (If a future version introduces other features such as advertising or cloud backup, this policy will be updated in advance and such features will be clearly described.)

8. Children

MDM Saathi is a workplace tool intended for adult school teachers and staff. It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Data security

Because your records never leave your device, their security depends on your device’s own protection (screen lock, encryption, etc.). We recommend keeping a device lock and creating regular backups. Note that the app deliberately does not include your data in Android’s automatic cloud backup, to avoid a torn or inconsistent restore.

10. Your control over your data

You are always in full control. You can delete individual entries within the app, and you can remove all app data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing its storage in Android settings. Since we hold none of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our side.

11. Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will change the “Effective date” above and post the new version on this page. Significant changes will be highlighted.
